Today I did not do too much except go to the store to get a can opener. I cleaned Sam's apartment and chat with Dyanis. Lou wants to hang out tomorrow, so at least I will get some social interaction.

Today, I am off, since it is Sunday. I went to Irene's going away party last night. It went very well and I got to meet new people. :) Before I got there, thought, I went to McDonald's and my iPod got stolen! I accidentally left it on the table when I went to get my food and when I returned, it was gone! :-O This sucks, but I will live. It just goes to show you that people will steal and you can't take your eyes off of your valuables for even a second when in a public place. 

I am at The Bean Gallery posting this from my laptop with the new webcam Amadeo got me for my birthday :) Until I get another mobile device, I will have to post from my laptop from now on. Instead though, I will post at CC's because it is closer, I don't have to go inside to pay for a drink to use the internet, and they close at 9:00, so I won't be there later than 10:00pm, when I should be home. In a way, this is a blessing in disguise, since I prefer to use a laptop or computer for internet. At the same time, I don't have as much portability as I did with the iPod and the camera that is on it. The tags are easier to use on the laptop, but the location is not. Also, I will have to either bring my laptop to Maik and Sam's places, or ask them to use the computer. Most likely the latter, though, since they don't like me using their computers, at least Maik.

Anyway, I took my parakeets outside today, cleaned their cages, and changed their food and water. They are so happy outside! :) I have not got to do this in over a week. It rained a little today, but very lightly and it was a sun shower. I went to Dollar General for a few things, and talked to Dyanis on the phone before heading out with my laptop to eat and post my blog.

This morning I got up at 9, even though I was off today. I did my morning routine, then I cleaned my bird cages. I just finished and it was exhausting. I also went to Dollar General for a few things, namely a scrub brush.

Later, I have therapy. I hope it goes well. Yesterday, Ben told me it looked like the Abilify was working, because I am more energetic and focused now, while before, I was like a zombie. It's good to know when other people notice my progress. It's also good to know that my medicine is doing its job, and that it is not a matter of sheer willpower to get things done when you are clinically depressed.

Today, my case worker Caitlin picked me up and we went to get the application for Tivoli apartments. I have an interview at 9:30am on Tuesday, June 25. Afterward, we went to the NAMI office to get started on applying for SSI.

When I got home, I took my birds outside, and called Amadeo. I assembled the wire shelving unit and ate lunch. Later, he wants to pick me up and work on building my desk. I went to the Dollar store to get some things, too.

Therapy today went well. We talked about how Amadeo and I could come to a middle ground on our different lifestyles to make sure I get enough sleep at night. Amadeo was worried that I am falling off track with that. After therapy, I went shopping at Dollar General and Family Dollar for some things. Later, I took my birds outside and helped Dawn and Sasha clean the apartment. Dawn also washed clothes and cooked. The cat got out, but I eventually got it back in the house. Amadeo came home later and we ate. Afterward, I washed the dishes and headed over to The Bean Gallery to post this blog (there is no wifi at the apartment) and chat with Dyanis like I promised. On the way out, I saw Mills and he was complaining to Dawn about the cat being there. Tomorrow, I have a meeting with LRS. I hope that goes well.

Mills cancelled work for today. Amadeo and Dawn brought in a stray cat last night. As before, it is a cute little thing to have around, but I have to protect my birds from it. It is a calico cat, mostly white with light brown splotches. It can jump very high, and is even more rambunctious than Diesel or even Stinky Butt (Nemo). 

So anyway, Amadeo went to Mills house to work on something, Dawn left, and I just relaxed at home. To keep myself from falling too far off track, I ate lunch, lied down for a nap, took a shower, got dressed, and went to Dollar General for a few things. I just got back a while ago, and now I am posting this blog. After this, I have a Skype date with Dyanis. :)

No therapy today because Anya is out visiting her mother. Instead, Caitlin from NAMI is meeting with me to do more case work.

Right now, I am out with the parakeets after having showered. Later, I need to go grocery shopping and put money on my Visa card at Money Mart.

The appointment went great. We worked on a service plan and next Tuesday, we go to LRS intake appointment in Metairie.

Dyanis cooked breakfast for us, and then we washed the dishes and bathed one after the other. She then got dressed and fixed her hair. I had an idea to wear something that matches her outfit and I did. It's a romantic thing to do in my opinion since it emphasizes that we are a couple. I also got the idea from other couples, including Amadeo with his past girlfriends. I will do this for the rest of her time here. She said she wants to bring me home, haha. I wish.

I chose blue jeans and a light blue polo shirt since she's wearing a blue and grey striped shirt and jeans. She told me she didn't like khakis anyway.

We are going shopping later at Rouse's and Dollar General. Like yesterday, we will get day passes so that we can take the street to and from the store, and later to the cafe. It will be much cheaper that way; only $6 versus $10 for several individual trips.

Today is a great day. It is very beautiful, hot, and sunny outside, and I am sweaty, but happy. I feel so much better than yesterday after I talked to Amadeo, David, and Anya. Starting today, I go to therapy on Mondays at 12 from now on. This is back to what I was doing before, and Anya asked me in an email if I could switch to Mondays. My schedule is very flexible, so of course I agreed to switch.

Today I went to therapy and it was great. We got into deeper family issues this time, which is good because before, I was dealing with daily functioning in the sessions. Now that I have a good routine going, along with ACT helping me, I should be able to dig into deeper family issues more on the future.

I wish Amadeo could take me to Lafayette, so I could get my scrapbook and also my dad's too, along with my old computer, which has all my old pictures on it. I want to do an autobiography/ scrapbook of my life and put it online. Facebook's timeline feature makes that feasible. This is for my own sentimental value, but it would also help Anya understand my family history better than an explanation alone. In the meantime, I can ask mom to email select photos that I need for now.

In other news, I stopped by Rite Aid and Dollar General right after therapy. On the way to there and back, I saw two Dollar General shopping carts left on the sidewalk. It's a shame, and since I shop regularly at Dollar General, I took it upon myself to bring them back, eventually rounding up all 6 of them (including the ones in the parking lot, and brought them inside in the cart holders.

I did this because I care, I wanted to help them, it was on my way, and it wasn't but a few more steps and I got exercise walking. Plus, the carts would have been left there otherwise. It helped the black girls working in the stores since they were busy stocking and helping customers. I am sure they appreciated it. While I have a negative view of black people in general, these girls have always been nice and helpful to me. It also helped the customers because now they have carts to shop with.

It's not my responsibility, but it wasn't too much out of my way to do it. I felt like I did my good deed for the day.

Of course, the day is not complete without animal care. I changed the bird cage liners, gave them fresh food and water, and swept the kitchen floor of debris. After that, I brought them outside and they were very happy. I also gave fresh food to the stray black cat outside. Even though he wasn't there, I knew he would eventually get to it later.

It's starting to cool off and I am in the shade in the courtyard posting this blog entry. Today is a good day. I love you David and Amadeo. Get well soon!
